The adult Cotter siblings have gathered at the family's Lake Michigan summer cottage to scatter their father's ashes across the sand dunes. During the wet, mosquito-ridden Fourth of July weekend that follows, they explore memories of their father, laugh about life, and try to deal with their long estrangement from each other. As they struggle to come to terms with their past and present lives, they gain insights about themselves, their father, and each other.

Flung is a funny, naturalistic drama about family, fireworks, and growing up.
